I am cleaning up generated filenames and need to remove the * character from the names before renaming the files.
But the %var:x=y% syntax won&#039;t work because * is treated specially.  
I have tried both:
%var:*=x%
and
%var:&quot;*&quot;=x%
and
%var:^*=x%
with no luck. 
What a maddening syntax!]]></description>
