The good thing about GWT verification is that it lets you to track your SEO campaign thus cintributing to your SEO work.

That with a combination of SEO Software and you got yourself a very good SEO results in few months.

On line 191 of search-engine-verify.php, you should use is_front_page() rather than is_home(), else the meta tags will not be inserted on a blog with a static home page (as set in Settings->Reading).

Two suggested enhancements :

You could use WP « other notes » page (or FAQ...) as some other plugins authors do put a version history.

You also could add to checkboxes for Google and Yahoo accounts, so that people who just use G. or Y. don't have to include unusefull code in their header.
