Peyton Manning, SuperBowl Champion, does the Tango!

Story

“I signed up for this class,” he says. “I was in the eighth grade, and I signed up for it because I wanted to get out of computer. It was called musical theatre (he pronounces it thee-ay-ter, in the Southern manner). A week into it they said you’ve got to be in the school play. . . . They assign you a role. The play was called The Boyfriend. They gave me the role of Miguel. One of the scenes was you had to do a tango with Lola. They had the wardrobe, and it was black pants and a red ruffled tuxedo shirt and a yellow cummerbund — and it was a full-on tango. So the pressure . . . I don’t know if doing it Friday in front of the whole school was that much pressure, but they said you had to do it again Saturday night in front of the families. And really it was in front of my two brothers, Eli and Cooper. Friday, they weren’t there because Cooper had practice, but Saturday, they were going to be there. And that was pressure. But I did it, man. I studied up and I went full speed on that tango. . . . I did it and I guess I came out okay.”
