You may not think much about verifying your website with these search engines, but I am of the opinion it is extremely good for Search Engine Optimization (SEO). In fact, I read the other day on Google that if you buy a domain with a checkered past that has been punished by the search engines and you want it to be reincluded in the index this is what they recommended. Verify your sites.
UPDATE: Now updated for WordPress 2.3.1, and every other 2+ version.

So, I love the idea of this plugin, but it is failing to insert the code, or (naturally) to verify that the code is there.
I have inserted the codes by hand in the meantime (but they show up on all pages now), but I’d love to use this plugin.
Let me know if you’d like to troubleshoot it with me. I’m using WP 2.3, with a static front page in root, while the wp install is in root/wordpress.
Thanks.

Just installed the updated 2.1 version, and still no verification love. Sorry. The plugin still returned, “Did not find them!” followed by an exclamation in a circle, then the number “1″.

Great plugin! This is so much easier than adding these manually. One suggestion for the next release would be to add upload capability of the verification files to the root site directory. This would allow more users (like myself) that utilize the file verification instead of the meta tag verification method to utilize your plugin.
Keep up the great work!

Simple and efficient plugin ! Thanks.
Two suggested enhancements :
You could use WP « other notes » page (or FAQ…) as some other plugins authors do put a version history.
You also could add to checkboxes for Google and Yahoo accounts, so that people who just use G. or Y. don’t have to include unusefull code in their header.
